Timber Seal by Huecoat can be used as a Primer, Sealer and a Top Coat.

Timber Sealer
Primary advantage!
Timber Sealer is a transparent water-based coating, based on concentrated, blended acrylic emulsions.
It is formulated with high substrate wetting capabilities, has no inorganic fillers, and dries to a clear, impervious film.
Timber Sealer is water resistant, alkali resistant, resists yellowing and has some exterior durability.
It has been specifically designed for timber to seal the substrate against moisture, fungal problems and other atmospheric
contaminants.
Designed for use as a primer/sealer coat, Timber Sealer assists in the uniform top coating of the Timber Glow® and XUV systems and maximises the UV protective qualities of this product.
Fantastic results are expected when Timber Sealer is used on untreated timber or MDF board, for doors, windows, skirting, decking, cladding, railing, fencing, or anywhere timber is being used as a substrate.
It is also used as a stand-alone product for the heads and stiles of wooden doors, and doors manufactured of composite materials.
It is particularly useful to prevent ingress of moisture when new doors have been hung and are subject to
adverse weather, before final finish coating is applied.

Surface Preparation Sealer/Primer for Timber GlowTM
Timber should be clean and surface dry; any stains, stencils or other marks should be removed as these would otherwise be "locked in" under the transparent
coating finish.
Timber which has been previously interfaces between panels and rails etc, to ensure that no gaps or joints are left un-coated that may otherwise allow
moisture transmission into the body of the door.
Chipboard and other flooring material Installed flooring likely to be exposed to the weather (e.g.before roofing is closed off should be coated with TimberSealer
prior to the onset of bad weather, to avoid seriousdamage to the flooring.
The product can be applied with brush, roller or spray.
It should be "laid off" with a good quality brush, to dispel any foaming, un-evenness or drips and runs that may be formed by the roller.
The product dries quite quickly to its final film and "laying off" should follow the roller directly.
Generally if inclement weather threatens, any coating should be completed no less than 2 hours before the start of rain to allow the Timber Sealer to dry through.
Coverage
Depending on porosity of timber and amount of the Sealer following can be considered as guides
Dressed hardwoods 10 -20 m2/Litre
Sawn timber 6 -16 m 2 /Litre
If the timber has been oiled with linseed it should either be allowed to age prior the the application of Timber Glow TM system, orthoroughly washed with organic
solvent to ensure proper bonding.
Protective Sealer for doors
Timber should be clean and surface dry. Nail holes and imperfections should be filled with appropriatefiller.
The surface should be lightly sanded prior to application
Drying Time
Touch dry within half hour, recoat no less than two hours depending on temperature and other weather conditions.
Clean-up
Clean all equipment with water immediately after use to prevent solidification of material particularly in application equipment.

Application
Sealer/Primer for Timber GlowTM
The first application (primer) on sawn Western Red cedar and similar rough timbers should be thinned to a suitable degree to allow ease of application on the
porous timber. (up to 25%)
For use on fine grained dressed timbers, thinning should be to a maximum of 10% as required.
Protective Sealer for doors etc.
Apply a liberal coating to all end grain and bare surface, paying particular attention to any joints.
Timber Sealer is available in the following sizes:
10, 4, and 1 Litre.
Larger sizes available on request.
Caution
Appearance of timber coated with only Timber Glow primer is greatly enhanced but should not by anycircumstances be left in this condition in exterior
exposed conditions as there is no U.V. protection forthe timber with a transparent uncoloured coating.
U.V. protection of the timber is provided by the topcoat material with the transparent oxides
.
